Hi Scott

This is a great idea. There's a growing need for more meetups like this to help promote the sharing of information within the technical community. My colleague Jeff and I co-founded a similar group in Philadelphia called PING Philly. And while Jeff does pretty much all of the work to help make sure things keep moving, I would like to share a few things with you that have made PING successful.

- Consistent scheduling - The schedule is important, especially early on. Keeping it around the same day each month helps a lot!
- Keep it interesting - the topics at PING change monthly to keep it fresh.
- Minimize the marketing/salesy stuff - The last thing a bunch of techies want to hear is a sales pitch. We limit these to 5 minutes for our sponsors.
- Get some sponsors - Finding a place to host the meetups is key. Plus free pizza and drinks is always good :)

There are two SunGard locations near Denver and I'd be happy to check on availability for you. One is in Thornton and the other is in Aurora.

Good luck - I hope this takes off!

A monthly meeting is probably good. First or second week of the month is probably good, as there are related topical groups that meet third and fourth weeks - Boulder Ruby, Denver Rails, Boulder DevOps, Denver/Boulder Cloud.
