I found the answer myself after doing some digging on alltel’s site. It’s called No Answer Transfer (Call Diversion)

*71+number to turn on, *710 to turn off.

Anyone following this should test this to avoid the Google Voice cell phone endless loop.

I have no idea. The codes above are for GSM phones (and theoretically should work on any GSM phone, not just an iPhone).

Another way to ensure GV handles all voicemail is to use caller presentation. Unless the caller isn’t in your google contacts, they have no idea whether caller presentation is on or off, and it only adds 1 more button push for you to pick up the call. Presentation is also helpful in situations when your cellphone is turned off or out of range.
