Happy birthday, dude! I recall you saying that you planned to let them expire, so I wasn't really surprised that they were gone--just surprised that they were picked up again so quickly.

Besides, with BladeVault gone now I get all your great content! :-)

Hey Colin and Scott - Yeah, I let them expire. They are (were) registered through GoDaddy so it doesn't surprise me that they snagged it for themselves to get some additional ad revenue.

I have been off line most of the day celebrating my birthday with my family. I didn't even know it was gone until I saw this post! :)

To make a very long story very short.... I didn't want to deal with the admin hassle of a site and the contract was up for the site and the domain. I really didn't want to spend the money to renew it.

I think it was actually Aaron's intention to let them expire and instead focus on his new blog location and content here, rather than maintaining his own site. It's just funny how quickly the domain snipers work.

ICANN has a 30 day redemption grace period put in place to deal with domain sniping (what just occurred). It may be worth Aaron pinging his registrar to get the old domains back.
