Ciao Guys,

For the macosx part of it i've not idea but for the iphone part:
Why not using the "activesync" mail/contact/calendar ota synch, it's read/write and works quite well.
Or did I miss somethins, I'm using it with my Google Apps account and it work fine. And iit's also available for "normal" gmail account.
Check: http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138740
Maybe I'm tottaly missing the point, if it's the case sorry for that.

Kindly,

>The big limitation, for me at least, is that CalDAV calendars synced to the iPhone are, in fact, read-only.

Not in iPhone 3.0 They are two way

Are any of you actually using MobileMe in this equation? My frustration is this: I finally have my iCal/Google Calendar syncing just like I want them to... but iCal isn't pushing out the Google Calendar events (which are the only events on there) to MobileMe. I looked at NuevaSync, but it seems to be made to act like MobileMe for folks who *don't* already have it.

My solution for now? I continue to use a link to Google Calendar on my home screen. The real Calendar app has been pushed back to my last page of apps for a long time...

Philip,

I haven't had the opportunity to work with iCal Server, so I can't help much there. Judging from some other research I've done, if this friend of yours is doing over-the-air syncing, CalDAV won't go over. Have her try USB/iTunes sync and see if that helps at all.

AndyM, Josh,

Thanks for the feedback on BusySync. I'm taking a much closer look now and we'll see how things work out.

I use BusySync, and I have been very pleased with it. When Gcal started supporting CalDav natively, I was concerned that my purchase of BusySync was in vain. However, as you have noticed, the read-only calendars on the iPhone is a major drawback. BusySync solves this and it updates fast.

Hi Scott, am in similar place as you, have been using BusySync and is really good. Down side though is it can't to Over The Air.

Am not a regular syncer of my phone so that's not the best.

I know this is off topic, but do you have any experience with Apple's iCal Server product? I'm specifically having problems with a friend who has this implemented in her office. She is unable to get her CalDAV calendars to sync with her iPhone. I haven't spent a lot of time looking at it myself, but she's having problems getting this to happen - any advice? I assume the iCal Server and Google's CalDAV calendars appear the same in iCal... If I can just get her to where she can see, but not change her appointments, that'd be better than what she has today.

I'll say, its a fairly big let-down if Apple hasn't gotten their own iCal Server product setup to be usable with an iPhone...
