Regarding ASIS limits, this has been a concern of ours also. The value of dedupe is limited if you expect to grow beyond the present platform limitations any time soon.

We raised the same hypothetical situation of hitting a catch22 position - where our data to undedupe would require a larger volume but the volume couldn't be grown whilst still SIS'ed. It is covered in NOW KB35784 but the only recommendation is to migrate data to another volume during the process.

I do know you can expect the limits to grow in the future. But given Larry's reluctance, I shaln't say any more.

Scott,

great blog! you can also dig into more information on Atmos @ my blog (http://www.flickerdown.com) and Stephen Todd's blog (http://stevetodd.typepad.com/). Between Stephen and I, we cover all the of the main features of Atmos and will continue to engage the Atmos team to bring additional features to light.

cheers,
