Indeed VC2.5.0u3 resolves the maintenance mode/HA bug (and apparently introduces a new HA related bug that Duncan Epping blogged on the other day over at yellow-bricks)

Listening to the VMware Communities Roundtable Podcast episode #20, apparently the HA bug with VirtualCenter 2.5 Update 2 that you mention, should have been solved with VirtualCenter 2.5 Update 3. Have not been able to confirm this myself tho...

Rick Blythe needs contact info on his blog. I had tried contacting him a few weeks to update him on the specifics of the VirtualCenter maintenance mode/HA bug when I noticed he blogged on it, but a "contact me" or email address was nowhere to be found on his blog site. The blog comments weren't working either. I randomly tried emailing administrator@VMwarewolf.com and webmaster@VMwarewolf.com. Both emails bounced. Rather annoying.

Guest VM customization templates have been plagued for a long time with password encryption/decryption issues. It continues with VirtualCenter 2.5.0 Update 3

Check out the following thread that has been ongoing since the year 2006:

http://communities.vmware.com/message/1074757

I've been burdened with the password decryption issue off and on through various versions of VirtualCenter, but as of VC2.5.0u3, the workaround doesn't work any longer. Losing the ability to deploy guests with automated customization through VirtualCenter hinders productivity and, well, it flat out sucks.
