Hi,
has anyone idea if NFS load-balancing issues descripted in "PS_IP43_Building Virtual Infrastructures with Network Attached Storage" apply to iSCSI also?
I especially mean NIC teaming and load balancing policies considerations.

Go into vsish and type 'help' -- you'll get a listing of valid commands. The MCE 'grab' functionality is just a small part of what vsish can do. You cd to various nodes (like directories), then do a get operation (for example) to see the status of a leaf node. Tab for node completion works on this. It's kind of cool.

vsish is a command to grab system reliability information, kind of the equivalent to mcelog in Linux.

Kevin,

I also hope that 3.5 has some serious iSCSI fixes. Jumbo frames is a BIG one that needs to be added, as is support for MCS (multiple connections per session). Here's hoping...

Thanks for reading!

The only problem with this session was the presenters. I hope they fine someone better at reading the stuff than the engineers they had. Have the engineers there for questions only! ;-)

I had heard that JF's weren't supported at the Equallogic's session and couldn't believe it. I also didn't realize only two hardware HBA's were only supported at this time. I hope 3.5 has some big fixes for iSCSI. Thanks for all your blogging!
